Welcome to 8th Grade Science!

This year, you will be exploring the wonders of the Universe, from the miniscule to the massive. Using science and engineering practices, you'll investigate topics including matter, heredity, and the sun-Earth-moon system. Best of all, you'll gain an understanding of how it all relates to you.

Throughout the year, you will be engaging in the following
Science and Engineering Practices

  • Asking questions and defining problems

  • Developing and using models

  • Planning and carrying out investigations

  • Analyzing and interpreting data

  • Using mathematics and computational thinking

  • Constructing explanations and designing solutions

  • Engaging in argument from evidence

  • Obtaining, evaluating, and communicating information

As we transition to the hybrid and remote models, you will find all relevant information on my Google Classroom page, which you will get access to at the start of the school year.

In the meantime, let They Might Be Giants remind you that Science is Real!

"The good thing about science is that it's true whether or not you believe in it." -Neil DeGrasse Tyson
