Career Day is Coming to DMS!
We’re excited to announce that Career Day for our 7th and 8th grade students will take place on Tuesday, December 16, from 9:45–10:30 AM!
We’re inviting parents and guardians to be part of this special event and share their careers with students. All careers are welcome!
Presenters will meet with two small groups of students (about 15–25 per group) and have 20 minutes to talk about what they do, how they chose their career, the skills or education involved, and what a typical day looks like. Presentations can be informal — we encourage props, photos, and real-life stories!
A current CORI check with Douglas Public Schools is required to participate.
If you or someone you know would like to participate and help inspire our students, please fill out the short interest form below:

Ms. Avedian and Mrs. Markopoulos are excited to share a Character Education presentation with our middle school students over the next couple of weeks! The focus is on Internet Safety and Social Media Awareness — helping students become safe, respectful, and responsible digital citizens.
💬 Topics Include:
🔹 Social Media: Exploring the positives (creativity, connection, education) and challenges (cyberbullying, fake news, privacy). Students will discuss healthy boundaries, thinking before posting, and seeking help when needed.
🔹 Internet Safety: Learning about scams, password security, online gaming, screen time, and digital footprints — with interactive scenarios to build awareness and smart online habits.
The presentation is interactive and discussion-based, designed to empower students with the skills they need to navigate the digital world safely and thoughtfully.
Ms. Avedian and Mrs. Markopoulos will be visiting related arts classes over the next two weeks to deliver this engaging and important learning experience.
